That's right...Stripes. Not spots. I am on the hunt for some headboard fabric. Once again, here is the inspiration picture for our master bedroom...

I am digging the stripes. However, the wall color in our master is gray and it will be staying as so. I like the drama of the headboard and the contrast it brings to the space, but I am afraid the stripes will look "circus-y" in a room that already has gray walls. I have also tracked down the fabric used for this headboard and it is a little pricey. Here are some of the options I am considering...
Robert Allen Oversized Stripe Charcoal Fabric
$28/yard
(used in inspiration picture)
Richloom Treviso Bisque
$24.99/yard
(on sale half price at Joann's)
Carousel Designs (babybedding.com)
Gray & White Stripe Fabric
$7.50/yard
Sunbrella Greek Key Gray and White Super Heavyweight
Reversible Outdoor Fabric
$11/yard
Canopy Collection by Premier Prints, Inc.
Cream/Linen
$11.99/yard
I might be leaning toward the more muted stripes, but I don't want to lose the drama.
Let me know if you have any thoughts or opinions! I would love to hear from you:)
Here are some more stripes that I am digging...
Striped tile!
Striped scarf!

Nursery stripes!
Striped bridesmaid dresses!
Striped floor!
Striped rug!
And finally, a striped ceiling;)
Ooh, I like the Carousel and Sunbrella the best because they are a little more out there. The drama is what you are attracted to and I think it will look good with gray walls which are like a neutral so I say go for it. If you were picking like bright red it might be a little circus like. :) How fun, can't wait to see what you choose!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ange! I am glad to hear you like those, because I like the price tags:)

ReplyDeleteI am crazy over stripes too. It's a great fabric for a headboard. You'll easily be able to hide the seam when you piece it for the width of your bed. I wouldn't go with the Sunbrella fabric.....it's much more difficult to sew on. It cannot be pressed, so making a perfect headboard would be tough. Even though it is a little more, I like the Robert Allen fabric the best. If you plan to have the headboard for awhile, it may be worth the investment.
